01 · About the subscription model

About the subscription model

What does a subscription lawyer actually cover?
Quick questions, document reviews up to your tier’s page count, scoped consultations, and discounted rates on flat-fee work outside your plan. Every plan publishes the exact list of what is included on its plan page.
What counts as a "quick question"?
Anything you could explain in a paragraph and we could answer in a paragraph — without original research, drafting, or producing a deliverable. Things requiring research or drafting are projects, not quick questions.
What counts as a "project"?
A discrete, scoped piece of legal work with a defined deliverable — drafting one contract from scratch, forming one LLC, preparing one estate plan, negotiating one agreement through signature, or seeing one matter from intake to resolution. Projects are flat-fee, quoted in writing before work begins. Subscription members get a 25% discount on flat-fee work.
Why a subscription instead of hourly?
Most New Mexicans avoid lawyers because they don’t want to start the meter on a five-minute question. Subscription removes that friction — you can pick up the phone whenever you need to, knowing exactly what the month will cost.
02 · About fit

About fit

Is this for businesses or individuals?
Both. The Personal, Personal Plus, and Personal Premium plans are for individuals and households. The Solo Entrepreneur plan is for one-person businesses. Many clients run both — a Personal plan for the household and a Solo plan for the business.
Does the Solo Entrepreneur plan cover me personally?
No. The Solo plan represents only your single-member LLC, not you as an individual. If you want personal representation as well, that requires a separate Personal plan and engagement letter.
Will any of the Personal plans cover my business?
No. Personal plans represent you as an individual — personal matters like estate planning, real estate, contracts you sign in your own name, and personal disputes. A business needs its own engagement under the Solo plan or a separate business engagement.
How do I know which plan fits me?
Take the 2-minute fit quiz, which routes you to a recommended plan based on six questions. Or book the free 15-minute call and we’ll figure it out together.
Do you help with NIL (Name, Image & Likeness) for NM athletes?
Yes — review and negotiate endorsement deals, revenue-sharing with schools, and collective contracts; form LLCs for athletes who need a business entity; advise on NCAA, NMAA, and NIL Go compliance; and handle agent terminations under the NM Uniform Athlete Agents Act. We cover UNM, NMSU, and (via our Texas license) UTEP, plus NMAA-eligible high-school athletes. See the NIL page.
03 · About pricing

About pricing

Is the intro call really free?
Yes. 15 minutes, no charge, no obligation, no engagement formed until you sign a written engagement letter.
How does the 25% member discount work?
Subscription members get 25% off all flat-fee project work as long as they are an active member on the date the work is engaged. For criminal defense and expungement specifically, member rates only apply if you were an active member on the date you were charged with the underlying offense — joining after the charge does not retroactively unlock the discount.
04 · About scope & emergencies

About scope and emergencies

Can you go to court for me?
Subscriptions are advisory and document work, not litigation. If your matter heads to court, court representation is a separate flat-fee engagement at the member rate. Subscribers do get discounted rates on the firm’s criminal defense work.
Do you handle emergencies?
No — subscriptions are standard business-hours service. We do not provide after-hours, weekend, holiday, or emergency response. For urgent matters, call 911 or appropriate emergency services. If you have an imminent court appearance, tell us when you book the call.
What happens if I need work outside my plan?
You get a written flat-fee quote at the 25% member rate, before any work begins. You decide whether to move forward. You can also upgrade or change your plan if you find yourself needing the higher tier regularly.
05 · About working together

About working together

How fast do I get a response?
Quick questions within 24 hours (Premium / Solo), 48 hours (Plus), or 3 business days (Personal). Documents inside your tier within the tier’s stated window. Time-sensitive items are handled the same day where possible.
Do you help clients across New Mexico?
Yes. The firm is licensed in New Mexico and works with clients statewide by phone and video. Offices in Albuquerque and Las Cruces are available for in-person meetings.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime. Plans are month-to-month. No retainer to refill. No minimum term. Cancel through the Client Portal or by emailing the designated address.
Will I work with you, or with an associate?
You work with Johnn directly. There’s no associate, no intake firewall, no handoff to a paralegal you’ve never met.
What about confidentiality?
Anything you share in the intro call is treated as confidential under the rules of professional responsibility — even if you don’t end up retaining the firm. The intro call does not create an attorney-client relationship; signing a written engagement letter does.
Where are your offices?
Two New Mexico offices: 9621 4th St NW, Suite 505, Albuquerque, NM 87114 and 516 E. Lucero Ave, Suite 575, Las Cruces, NM 88005. Most subscription work happens by phone, secure portal, and email — you don’t have to drive to either office.
